I can't believe how LONG it has been since I last blogged!

{And to think I laughed in people's faces when they told me I am brave for starting a blog.}
"Brave??" I thought??
Yes it's true, I didn't know how much work it would be to maintain a blog
a.k.a. keep entertaining stories fresh in my head long enough for me to get to a computer to write!
But I have to say, it's been great to hear that people are reading my blog, and missing it when its gone :)
SO
I'm back
and I have a story to share:
Now...I've always been one of those people that loooooves giving gifts more than I like receiving them
:)
However....
I'm also one of those people who doesn't really like buying stuff for people unless I'm buying something for myself at the same time...
double edged sword, people!
And so, the "ONE FOR ME, ONE FOR YOU" shopping plan was born.
Definition: The action in which one buys a gift for themselves each time one buys something for someone else.
Anywho, It's the boyfriend's birthday week
which means lots of planning and shopping for him
and not so much for me
{sob}
So I thought...
I've totally mastered this one for me, one for you shopping plan at xmas time so why not extend it out to b-days??
I've had my eye on a pair of beautiful Tom Ford aviators for OVER 2 years now.
You might recall my love for these Tom Fords in my earlier "favorite things" posting.
Whilst out shopping for Patrick, I decided that my tax return money would be a FABULOUS way to finally make my dream of owning those babies a REALITY.
Also...Sadly
I stepped on my TF Whitney's when I was in Pebble Beach and totally broke them!
Those babies DID have a good run
{3 years}
but
I wasn't quite ready to part with them yet
so I thought I would take them with me to Nordstrom to see if there was ANYTHING they could do to salvage them.
Any of you familiar with the Nordstrom RETURN POLICY?!?
If you're not, get familiar
it's
THE best
they pretty much let you return/exchange anything and everything
but still....
I was holding out
no hope for getting anything for my TF Whitney's.
{no receipt}
{no case}
{no sticker}
{no purchase history-bought 'em with a gift card}
Sounds pretty sketchy right?
So I walked into Nordstom, broken glasses in hand
with very little expectations
and
After explaining the situation to the nice man behind the counter
in a
" diarrhea of the mouth" kind of way...
{Me: (one sentence without stopping to take a breath) I swear I bought these here but you might not believe me because I don't even have the case, a receipt, nothing except the broken glasses and you won't even find it in the system because I bought with a gift card, but either way I want to buy those Charles aviators today and maybe get these ones fixed??}
He stared at me blankly and suddenly I wanted to run away for probably sounding like a total idiot
He looked at my broken glasses and said
one of the saddest things I have ever heard
Him: These glasses aren't even salvageable, there is nothing we can do
and then?
He said
one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard
Him: BUT, we will give you the total retail price of these Whitney's as a discount off your aviators!
Know what that meant ladies and gents??

TF Whitney -$340.00
sales tax $40.00

MY NEW SHADES $40.00
That's right, I am now the proud owner of a pair of Tom Ford Charles Aviators
and they only cost me 40 DOLLARS!!!
